1st XI Football Vs New Plymouth Boys' High School

Brilliant weather in New Plymouth

Match Report:

PlaceMakers PNBHS 1st XI played New Plymouth Boys' High, losing 1 – 3. Boys' High started poorly, with New Plymouth dominating both territory and possession, early in the match. Both teams then settled into a pattern of sloppy play resulting in poor passing and decision making. At half time, the result was nil, nil.

In the 2nd half both teams had periods of dominance, with several missed opportunities from each side. However, New Plymouth opened their account after poor defending from Boys' High allowed their striker to score. Soon after, Mason Charlton set Joey Thomas on a run down the left side, which allowed him to pick out Ben Mori, who put the ball into the back of the net. New Plymouth struck back from a set piece to take the lead, followed up with another goal from a corner, that sealed the deal. The loss gives the team several areas to work on before the Super 8 tournament in Rotorua at the end of the month.

The 1st XI would like to thank our team sponsors: PlaceMakers Palmerston North and JG Residential.
