Recently the Mau rākau group travelled to Tawhitinui Marae, Manaia, to support the local people of Ngāti Ruahinerangi and Ngā Rauru.
The students thoroughly enjoyed their stay at Tawhitinui Marae. They made new friends and now have established a positive relationship with the Taranaki people. The generosity and kindness towards our students was excellent.

Congratulations to Year 13 student Ray Su, who has been selected in the New Zealand Secondary Schools Symphony Orchestra for 2020.
Given the disruptions to 2020 from COVID-19 auditions for the NZSS Symphony Orchestra were held online, with students required to submit a video of themselves performing. Ray is photographed below performing in the recent School Concert as part of the 'Norton Trio'. The 'Norton Trio' recently placed first in their category at the Registered Music Teachers annual Chamber Music Competition. This trio also performed as 'No Frets' in the Manawatū District Round of the prestigious NZCT Chamber Music Competition where they were awarded Highly Commended and the Best Performance of a New Zealand Work.
