For the first time, a Secondary Schools' Shearing Competition was included in the New Zealand Rural Games held earlier this term.  While the PNBHS team of Zane Munn, Aaron Christensen, Orlando Ratima, guest wool handler Brena Ratima and Jock Chambers finished outside of the podium placings, it was a great experience for those involved and provides us with something to extend on in the future.

Forty-four senior students from the PNBHS Young Farmers club had the opportunity to attend the Central Districts Field Days earlier this term and to complete the AgriQuest Challenge.  The AgriQuest was an 'Amazing race' style challenge showcasing career opportunities in the primary industries.  Students who successfully completed the challenge were eligible for a spot prize draw and the winners were recently presented with their prizes.
