Lenny Hansen-Wall in Duckrockers

Year 9 student Lenny Hansen-Wall will be on our television screens in coming weeks after he won the role of Jacob for the upcoming series of ‘Duckrockers’ which screens on TV2 at 8.30pm on Wednesday. Duckrockers is the comedy teen prequel to Sione’s Wedding sees the break-dancing boppers enjoy a last summer of fun before they become ‘real, actual men’ over eight half-hour episodes.

Lenny applied for a role in Duckrockers in 2021 and after an online audition and call back was given the role of Jacob.  He had to attend three days of filming in Auckland earlier this year, working long days with 5.00am starts and not finishing until late in the day.  Lenny loved the experience and is keen to explore other opportunities to develop his acting skills and experience.

Lenny is heavily involved in the performing arts and this year has been part of the PNBHS Junior Musical Theatre, the Junior Play, had a role in the Rector’s Company Shakespeare performance and the TheatreSports Club. Next year he will be part of the school production of Oklahoma! Alongside this he has competed with the Super Eight Kapa Haka and Te Piringa and was named best Kaea for the Year 9 Haka challenge.

Outside of school, Lenny has been part of the Peter Pan Junior and Aladdin Junior productions put on by the Manawatū Youth Theatre.
