New Zealand Super Eight Schools Cultural Festival

Congratulations to all young men who competed in the recent Super Eight Schools Cultural Festival held in Taupo over three days from May 15 - 17.

The Cultural Festival continues to grow and this year PNBHS was represented in Theatre Sports, Pasifika, Chess, Debating, Kapa Haka, Oratory, Art, Music, Drama and Dance.  In total, nearly 70 young men were involved.  All of the individuals and groups involved performed with distinction and enjoyed the opportunity to compete in a diverse range of activities.

PNBHS groups and individuals came away with a range of podium placings:

First Place:

Pasifika 

Dance - Camden Woodroofe

Second Place:

Senior Oratory - Leo Mwape 

Senior Music Solo - Saem Millward

Third Place:

Senior Theatre Sports

Senior Debating 

Drama

The Pasifika group also won the 'Altogether Better' award for showing the values and kaupapa of Super Eight with their broken-down bus journey en route to their performance.

Thank you to all of the staff members and supporters who assisted with the preparations for these groups and who gave up their time to accompany them to Taupo.
