Library News

As the weather gets colder, we have more and more regulars settling into our large, warm space. We love our new set up of 15 computers lining one of our internal walls, which is a big change from the three large red tables which held them for fifteen years.

New members of our Student Librarian team are Scott Sun, Ethan Kaandorp, Marc Angelo Malazarte and Cameron McGrath. Long-serving member Blake Massicks has become our Deputy Head Student Librarian and he is our champion book coverer. The photo above shows Ethan, Marc, Ari Kibell and Jacob Dawber standing at their post.

New books are flowing in and we are ably supporting literacy in the school at all levels. They are hopefully variable enough for the differing interests of our students and staff – from fantasy to hunting. Make use of our online catalogue found via the Library tab on Stratus or go straight to https://library.pnbhs.school.nz/#!dashboard to find whether your favourite author’s latest book has arrived!

Year 9 classes have all been introduced to the library’s services and resources during their early English classes. The students are now coming in small groups of four during SSR, for a more personal visit.
