For our Senior Electives we had lots of choices. I was lucky and got my first choice of glass painting. I’d never done glass painting before so I was excited to give it a try. One of the Year 5 parents, Meena, came in on Wednesday afternoons for a few weeks to teach a group of us how to do it. First, we chose a design. Then, we got our frames and put the paper with our design on the glass. Next we had to put the glass back in the frame so we could outline the design on to the glass using thin line of special paint that we squeezed out of a tube. We waited for it to dry so we could paint lots of layers of colour onto the glass. After it was all dry we got some tinfoil which we scrunched up so it looked wrinkly then we put the tinfoil on the back of our glass so it would be a background to our paint. Finally, we put our glass back in the frame and our glass painting was ready to display! Written by Zara Room 22
