Amy Gudgeon - November 24, 2021

What an honour it was to spend the morning listening to Hamish Kerr who represented New Zealand in the high jump at the recent Tokyo Olympics.

Hamish shared his inspirational journey to reach the biggest sporting stage in the world. Hamish made the final and finished 10th at the Olympics - a massive achievement! Hamish played a variety of sports from a young age and then took his love for athletics to the next level through high school and then really got serious when he was 22.

Hamish shared his experience of the Olympic Village and what it was like to be at the Games - including the daily Covid testing. He also talked about the Olympic Values (friendship, excellence and respect) and the importance of the volunteers we have in sport to keep events running.

Hamish has qualified for the Commonwealth Games next year and we will be cheering him on!
