Getting to Know...

Sue McAnelly

Role with PSS Family/Whānau Worker, FDR Mediator and COS-P Facilitator

Started in June 2008

Give us a quick overview of your role

My main role is to support and work with families on the Family Start programme in their home environment. In the Mediator role it’s to facilitate the opportunity for parents/caregivers to come to a workable agreement for the sake of the children’s involvement.

What’s the number one thing you love most about your job? Seeing the positive change in the people I work with.

What do you enjoy outside of work?

Spending time with my own family, especially my beautiful grandchildren. I love being creative and making things (sewing, knitting, making photo albums/scrap booking etc), drawing, gardening, watching a good movie and generally relaxing with a cup of tea, some chocolate and a good book.

What's the one thing, you can't live without?

My camera – I’m always taking photos.

What’s your favourite quote or saying?

“Treat others the way you would like to be treated”.
