Equal Pay Decision Takes Effect
The landmark pay equity settlement has impacted tens of thousands of aged care and disability workers nationwide.
Enliven staff have welcomed the Care and Support Workers Pay Equity Settlement, which came into effect on July 1.
The settlement means those staff affected have received pay increases of at least 17% for many but more than that for longer serving staff.
Enliven Director Julia Russell said while the move was fantastic, she acknowledged there was still plenty to work through going forward. We are working to ensure our training meets the standards that the government has now set.
“I’m delighted that support and care workers are now getting more money for the tremendous and valuable work that they do – this now puts caring up there alongside other career pathways,” she said.
