Role with PSS: Therapy Assistant

Give us a quick overview of your role:

I encourage residents to participate in therapy programmes that are specific to them as set by the Physiotherapist. Programmes are designed to maintain and improve their mobility and range of movement that will make activities of daily living easier.

I also provide information and equipment to meet comfort cares, provide education to staff about Safe Resident Handling and contribute to overall best practice by being part of Infection and Quality Control committees.

What’s the number one thing you love most about your job?

The smile when residents achieve beyond what they thought they could.

What do you enjoy outside of work?

Family, especially my grandchildren, and having a go at new activities – currently golf.

What’s the one thing you can’t live without?

Coffee
