Principal Message
Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does.- William James

It was so good to hear we were staying at Alert Level 2, and that school was remaining open. Our students really are getting back into the swing of things and teachers are enjoying having them in the classes rather than seeing them on a screen. Let's hope it stays this way.
There have been a number of events postponed and in some cases cancelled. I imagine this comes with frustration, we just have to remind ourselves of the big picture and we all need to play our part at the moment. Thank you all for your understanding and support during this time.
Three way Conferences
You would have received a message to say that we will be doing our three-way conferences by zoom next week. You will receive the link today so you can book your time for these conferences. Please make a booking so you can see and share in your child's learning. Your child and teachers are looking forward to sharing successes.
Cross Country
We went ahead with our whole school cross country last week and what a success it was. Seeing all our tamariki in their house colours ready to do their best was fantastic!
I was really encouraged by the efforts and support shown by our kids. Cheering the kids at the finish and seeing their faces just made my day. I want to thank you all again for cheering from the sidelines and along the road.
School Charter - 2021
As a staff, we are working really hard at our school goals and the initiatives and action plans that need to be put into place ensuring we achieve these goals. I want to thank the staff and BOT for committing time to work through this process. I'm excited that we will all be working towards a common understanding of what needs to be done to achieve these goals.
Bush School
Starting on Tuesday, we will have Leo Smith, who will work with two teachers and the first group of twenty students over the next three weeks, to look at our very own bush area and what learning opportunities can be had. I'm very excited about utilising this space and the learning opportunities that lie within this space. We will repeat this process over a ten week period giving more students a chance to learn and explore and eventually the whole school will be making use of this area. We will keep you posted.
