E-Scooters & Hoverboards

Aretha Harris —

Our main priority is to keep everyone safe.

With the increasing number of e-scooters coming to school, and to ensure the safety of all students during lunch and playtime, we have made the decision that e-scooters cannot be ridden on the track or around the school during school hours.

E-scooters are significantly faster than traditional scooters, which makes the shared bike track more dangerous. Additionally, students have been giving rides to others, often without helmets.

Students are welcome to ride their e-scooters to school, but they must park them by their classroom until the end of the day. We also encourage whānau to support their child in wearing a helmet when riding their scooter to school, as this is crucial for their safety.

Same rules apply to hoverboards so these are best enjoyed outside of school.

Reminder - To ensure the safety of all students, staff, and whānau; bicycles, scooters and other 'wheels' must be walked when entering and exiting the school gates. With high foot traffic at these times, riding poses a significant risk of accidents and injuries.

Thank you for your understanding and support in ensuring a safe environment for all.
