CUST SCHOOL - PUKETERAKI KĀHUI AKO

Robert Schuyt —

The vision of the Puketeraki Kahui Ako is to create a community of learning in the heart of the wider Rangiora District where learning is engaging, relevant and responsive to the needs of all students. Through our charter, and supporting school documents, the Board and school have planned, aligned, committed, and promoted this vision in a strategic manner.

At a more practical level we have ensured our professional development, professional conversations and school strategic goals reflect the aims and goals of the Kahui Ako.

So that we can, within our school and across the Kahui Ako:

· Support innovative practice while enhancing learning environments

· Build communication networks which promote quality teaching and learning and

· Promote collaborative practice and the professional development

Cust School has implemented strategies which allow:

· teachers to have opportunities to collaborate and share their practices with each other and in doing so will build relational trust within the team,

· teaching practices to improve as a result of observing, reflecting and discussing teaching as professionals and

· collaboration between teachers and across the school to continue to improve.

These strategies are linked to the Kahui Ako goals and allow us to develop networks across our Kahui Ako and support the inquiries the Across School Teachers are developing, ensuring that we can firstly find, what dimensions of highly effective teaching practice already exist within our COL, and in the future, utilize this expertise.
