Kāhui Ako progress Term One.
Ngā mihi e te whānau, nau mai ki te Kura o Fernside.
This term Fernside school staff have been making connections across our Kāhui Ako. All of our teachers have attended the transition cohert pathways sessions and connected with teachers through the network groups. The feedback from these sessions was extremely positive and has been a highlight for Ferside School Staff this term. Staff finally see the benefits that the Kahui Ako offers classroom teachers.
Our teaching staff are fully engaged and motivated in building relationships, making connections, and reflecting on their own professional or personal goals. There is a true sense of collaboration not only within school but across the Kāhui Ako with teachers with common interests and goals building networks with a shared goal: working together to help our learners achieve their full potential.
Our school’s major focus for the year is PB4L -developing systems across the school. All staff are on board and have a number of staff attending the Kahui Ako PB4L workshops. Andrew Spencer and I are working together to progress the above Kahui Ako goals. We meet on a regular basis to discuss our goals, progress and next steps.
Puketeraki Mathematics Extension for our Students
Also this term we have a group of our year 8 students and their Whānau attending their first maths extension workshop. This is an opportunity to work with other students from our Puketeraki Kāhui Ako once a term at Rangiora High School with the RHS Mathematics teachers.
