Term 4 - Sefton School - Ahead in the Country

Jane Fong —

As the school year comes to an end, we reflect on yet another busy term.

Our term began with a visit from ERO, which gave us some clear guidelines on where we need to focusing in the coming year. Taking precedent will be developing a localised Sefton School curriculum. We will also be continuing to consolidate and embed PB4L, as we fine tune and reflect on what has gone well with implementing this new behaviour system this year. Our junior school participated in the Nth Canterbury Sports Spectacular run by the Main Power Sports team and the seniors competed in the Kowai Sports – both events giving our students an opportunity to engage and meet with other schools within our CoL. It was wonderful to see all the fantastic creations and baking for the display section of our annual Pet Day, with the showing of pets part having to be cancelled due to bad weather ,much to the disappointment of many ! The Rakahuri Bike Blast proved to be an outstanding success for the many students from across our CoL who participated in this event, which is organised and run by Sefton School. We farewell one staff member - Sally Gray, who some of you will be lucky enough to meet next year as she takes up a new role with the RTLB team. We are in the process of completing the appointments process to replace her. Two weeks to go and counting down as I’m sure many of you are – have a very relaxing and happy holiday – see you next year.
