Alert Level 4 - Update 2 - 19/08/2021

Sally Fuller —

Ngā mihi mahana ki a koutou – warm greetings to you all Looking on the positive side, today’s weather has been glorious and hopefully, your children were able to be outside enjoying the sunshine.

Like you, we are waiting to hear tomorrow about whether the Alert Level will change. The Prime Minister is expected to advise New Zealand about this at 3pm. We have been working on plans for distributing devices and hard pack learning materials if these are required next week. If you have not yet replied to your child’s teacher about device needs, it is vital you do this by tomorrow morning. If your phone contact details, or address, has changed recently and you have yet to let us know, please make this a priority.

Fusion Tech Support - Student Support Phone Line:

For any student device issues, parents and students will be able to get in touch with Fusion technicians by phone during business hours (8:30am – 5pm) on 09 801 2800. This number is listed on the Fusion extension deployed to all Chromebooks and Chrome browsers. Fusion is here to help, so please get in touch if you have any concerns or questions.

Mental Health:

The uncertainty and anxiety surrounding a pandemic may affect people in different ways. You may feel more stressed and / or fatigued during this time. Reach out to others if you need support. Limit your time on social media or following the news if this is causing you to feel anxious. You can phone or text 1737 to talk with a trained counsellor anytime. This service is free and available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Unite against Covid-19 website is a useful place for accessing information and wellbeing support if you, or a member of your family, needs assistance.

Crisis in Afghanistan:

We want to pass our thoughts and best wishes to our Afghani families. The humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan will be a stressful and worrying time for you all, as you think about family and friends. Salam alaikum.

Plans for next week:

We will let you know about how school will operate from next week once the announcement has been made. In the meantime take care, and follow the Ministry of Health guidelines to stay safe and well.

Noho ora mai
