Junior Campus Build Update

Mrs Jo Johnstone —

The new build on the Junior Campus is progressing well.

Earlier this term we held a blessing for our new Tauhōkai (Hall). Our youngest and oldest ākonga on the Junior Campus had the honor of cutting the ribbon for the official opening. Matua Sonny carried out the blessing by sprinkling water around the Tauhōkai while everyone followed touching the walls and floor, putting themselves into the building. The wonderful new space has been utilised for whānau hui, mihi whakatau, inquiry showcase, jump jam rehearsals and games. We are looking forward to the many more events and celebrations that we will hold here in the future.

We are seeing progress and updates on our new classroom block each day. Last week the concrete was poured for the verandah and this week the steel beams have been constructed with help of a giant crane. We are excited about seeing the next stage in the development. We are hoping the building will be complete by the end of January 2025.
