Haiku Poetry first ever efforts!
This week the Year 3 and 4 students in Room 10 wrote Haiku poems about the B.F.G (Shared novel study).
Their teacher Mr L asked who had heard of this type of poem before and no one had. We then learnt about the structure of this type of poem including the syllables and the clapping of word patterns.
Next we brainstormed a large list of words to help us with our poem drafting, before Mr L modelled several haiku poems on the white board for us. One student chose to write an acrostic poem instead on THE BFG and this is also attached.
The students have done a great job on their first ever haiku poem - well done!
