Excited for school, ready for learning in Year 3 & 4
Creativity superstars with Art and Writing
Our Year 3 & 4 students have been happy and excited to get back to school, see their friends and get to know their new classmates. They have been showing their teachers they are definitely ready for learning.
In the classroom:
Our Art focus for the term is drawing and new ways to add colour. Children have been creating artworks with this focus that also help others learn about them. These have included underwater self portraits and "All About Me" posters, showing students favourite colours, foods and how they see themselves. Kōmiti students were learning about using pastels and shading with their beautiful Butterfly Art.
Writing:
Children have been engaged in lots of writing activities, recounts to tell us about their holidays, accrostic poems to tell us about themselves and creative stories about monsters and dragons to help develop their imagination and use of describing words.
Swimming:
Students have been enjoying building their confidence in the water and being able to use the pool on hot days. Swimming lessons were happening this week, with students learning about water safety and reinforcing their swimming skills. Children and teachers have enjoyed the swimming sessions and skills will be put into practise next week!
