Goodbye Mrs Taylor and Benji

Sue Elley —

Last week we farewelled Mrs Cara Taylor and our school dog Benji.

Cara and Benji have been part of Belfast School for the past five years.   During  the farewell assembly Mrs Taylor received cards, comments  and our appreciation for all her work and contribution to Belfast School.   Cara's family,  including her mum Chris, joined us to celebrate her time with us.   Highlights of the assembly were the staff dance  with all the dancers wearing either Benji or Cara's  face and everyone joining in with Baby Shark.

Benji has been a great friend to everyone.  He was happy to have children read to him, walk him and just sit beside them for a cuddle.   So that Benji will remember his time at Belfast School we gave him a collar and tag with his name in our school colour.

Cara is taking up a new professional challenge as a foundation Deputy Principal at Te Matauru, a new school being built in West Rangiora.   We know that with her knowledge and skills, and with Benji by her side, she will make a great contribution to her new community.   Good luck Cara and Benji
