Enrolments

To help organise New Entrants into Pūtahi Belfast School, it is helpful if you enrol your child at least six to eight months prior to your child’s 5th birthday. We encourage you both to have three pre-school visits to familiarise yourselves with the Teacher and classroom routines. A copy of your child’s NZ Birth Certificate/NZ Passport and Immunisation information is required upon enrolment. This is a requirement of the Ministry of Education. This information remains confidential to the school.

The Pūtahi Belfast School Board has adopted Cohort Entry from the beginning of 2024. Starting from Term 1, 2024 there will be two entry points, the first at the beginning and the second cohort will be in the middle of the term, with start dates specified by the Ministry of Education. There will be an exception for children who require a slow transition to school, usually those tamariki that are being supported by Early Intervention.

Pūtahi Belfast School has an enrolment zone area, and therefore a placement is not guaranteed if you are out of zone.

If Parents wish to enrol a child who has any Special Needs, we would recommend that contact with the school is made at least one year prior to enrolment.
