Here we are again! Lockdown one 2020 done.. and now lockdown two 2021 we did it! And if we had to go again in the future we will be even more ready!

Here we are again! Lockdown one 2020 done.. and now lockdown two 2021 we did it! And if we had to go again in the future we will be even more ready!

For each and every one of us lockdown version 1.0 and now lockdown version 2.0 would have been a different experience - some highs, some lows, some good and bad, whatever your experiences were we the staff and your student council will be here to support you in your transition back into onsite and face to face - or mask to mask learning.

I would like to acknowledge the management team here at QCC.

Betty - our Rangatira, our leader - the one who keeps our waka steady.

Brian - our tangata kaha our strong man who is our main paddler, sometimes over big waves.

and Whaea Dawn - our mana wahine and the head of our support team.

I am proud to be part of and contribute to this leadership team that has led this school in my short time here through two pandemic lockdowns.

Alongside this team is a very hardworking team of middle managers, teaching, and support staff, this team is the backbone of our school and your support network.

We need to acknowledge the team of staff that were here within level 4 making up hard copy packs, sorting laptops, specifically requested work to be delivered to many of you, and the drive-by drop-offs to letterboxes all across the region.

And my final acknowledgment is to all of you - our tribe, our whanau.

'Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi, engari he toa takitini'

'Our success should not be bestowed onto one alone, it was not individual success - but the success of a collective.'

This whakataukī acknowledges team effort, and that our successes are due to the support and contribution of many. Just as it takes a village to raise a child, it takes a community - a team to enable our success and to continue to do so as we face whatever challenges the rest of the year may bring us.

Kia ora,

Anna Coleman - Deputy Principal.
