Hip Hop Success
2024 is shaping up to be another successful year for the Queen's Hip Hop team.
Nine Queens’ crews competed in the Hip Hop Unite NZ Schools Otago/Southland competition, which was held last Saturday in Invercargill.
All crews competed strongly and represented their school with pride. In the High School Small Crew category “Audacity”, coached and choreographed by Queen’s student Safera Wintrup, qualified for Nationals, ranking in the top five.
In the Mini Crew category “Hpnotiq” received 2nd place and qualified for Nationals. ‘Hpnotiq’ was coached, choreographed, and performed by Year 10 students Katie Harris and Elsie Munro with some guidance and choreography from Ex-Queen's student Chloe Robertson.
Also, in the Mini Crew category, 'Intertwine' (Izzy Fyfe, Hannah Geary and Brooke Wilson), coached by Sarah Donaldson, qualified for Nationals, ranking in the top five.
Queen's also had students represent RASA School of Dance at the same competition in the Dance school categories.
A big thank you to our coaches, parents and supporters who help the girls pursue their passion.
Keep dancing!!
