For the first time in many years Queen’s had representatives in the Otago-Southland Secondary School triathlon championships.

This was held on the Thursday before the Wanaka Challenge so the girls got to taste this multi-disciplined sport in a professional set-up. Well done to Ella McBride (swimmer), Frauke Haase (cyclist) and Billie Allan (runner) for their 11th placing out of 20 teams in the Under 16 category. Only 6 minutes separated them from the winning team and because they are all only 14, maybe we will see them back next year in the same age group, along with more budding triathletes from Queen’s.
