Physical Education

PE Dept —

Physical Education students have been busy during lockdown. Here are some examples.

Year 9 PE - During lockdown, 9MNT and 9MER have been independently researching the effects of Tobacco and Vaping as part of their Health programme. One of the supporting activities was a Choice Board Tic Tac Toe task where they chose vaping topics to explore further and present their findings digitally.

Year 10 PE - 10LWR have been researching alcohol issues. One of their online sessions looked at collaboratively developing strategies for host responsibility for parties.

Year 11 PE/OE - During lockdown, the Year 11 PE/OE class have continued learning about physiology and the body's response to exercise. One of their online learning challenges was to create models of the circulatory system using everyday objects from home. A healthy heart cookie recipe was also shared with the class. Another Zoom session took the students through a relaxation and exercise session where we observed what adaptations the body makes to cope with the demands of exercise.
