World Vision Youth Leadership Conference 2019

Liz Koni —

Eight senior students were selected to attend this jam-packed day, on March 11th, which is designed to spark a passion for justice and equality in young Kiwis, equipping them with the leadership tools they need to go out and create the world they want to live in.

This interactive and inspiring conference mobilises young leaders across the country to be strong community advocates and gives them a platform to outwork these skills through the 40 Hour Famine in their schools and communities.  It provided an amazing opportunity for our students - Kaiya Casswell, Maia Tutbury, Ella McDonald and Daisy Kitto-Thomas, Sophie Palmer, Mele Veikoso, Louisa Knight and Justyce Toeke - to connect with like-minded leaders from across the country and has inspired them to lead the 40 Hour Famine at Queen's this year.  The group are hoping that many students will commit to the Famine this year, which is in aid of the South Sudan refugee crisis.  Watch this space for more details!
