Students’ Success

Abby McBride competed in the National Division 2 Swim Championships recently with enormous success. She qualified for three finals: 50 metre fly, 50 metre freestyle, and 200 metre freestyle, while also achieving a Personal Best (PB) time in the 50 metre fly. Motivated to finish with a placing, she broke her own PB twice to finish first in the 50 metre freestyle, qualifying for the New Zealand Short Course Nationals later in the year. Congratulations Abby.

We wish to acknowledge Zara Ward, for her selection in the Otago Under 18 Girls’ Hockey Team to compete at an upcoming National Tournament. An amazing achievement.

Mereana Martin represented Otago in a Senior Women’s National Water Polo Tournament in Rotorua last weekend. She played an active part in the team, being the highest goal scorer for the region. She is still recovering from the fierce competition.
