On 9th February, after only two Biology lessons this year, the Level 3 Biology class headed to the Physiology Department at the University of Otago.

We spent the morning investigating how exercise affects the levels of the gases exhaled from the body, and why this is important. Some members of the class were our experimental subjects, and they had their breath collected and analysed, as well as having their breathing rates and temperatures monitored. It was a fun morning, and gave the class a practical demonstration of homeostasis in the human body.
