Kia ora Queen’s High School students and whānau of 2023

Our names are Martha McAuley and Annalise MacDonell and we are extremely excited and privileged to be leading the team of Queen’s High School Prefects for 2023. We have both attended Queen’s since 2019 and over these four years, we have developed a passion for our school and community and wish to give back. We plan to lead our students through the busy year ahead of us and challenge our students to have fun while continuing to stay focused. We could not be more proud or excited to lead our school in 2023 and we wish everyone all the best for the year ahead.

To our new students in Year 9 and in other year levels, we welcome you into our school and our community. We understand that a change in school can be slightly daunting so we encourage you to speak with us, your teachers and our team of prefects if you have any questions or concerns. We both look forward to getting to know each and every one of you and hope your first week at Queen’s was filled with fun and excitement.

To our returning students in Years 10, 11, 12 and 13, we hope you have had a restful and relaxing break and are ready for the school year ahead. We hope you have taken the time over the holidays to set some goals for yourself, and we hope to see you all take up opportunities that arise over the coming year. We look forward to seeing you all thrive this year, and we are particularly looking forward to seeing your creative costumes on the upcoming Athletics Day!

We hope everyone has had an enjoyable first week back at school and has somewhat settled into your new timetable. Take the time over the long weekend to get ready for next week and we look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday.

Ngā mihi,

Martha and Annalise
