Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori

Cherie Ford —

Next week is Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori and once again Queen's High School will be taking part in the Māori Language Moment.

At 12pm on Tuesday we will be doing a range of activities across all of our classes to set the record for the most people speaking and celebrating an endangered indigenous language at the same time. We will also have lunchtime activities running throughout the week by our Māreikura prefects and other senior students. If you'd like to be involved in the Māori Language Moment, just follow the link below to sign up as an individual or a workplace.

During the lockdown the Year 10 Māori classes have been busy making videos! In week one they made a video about the Noho Whakamohoao/Lockdown and in week two they made Mahi Tunu Kai/cooking videos. Ngā mihi nui ki a Rīpeka rāua ko Jordy for sharing their mahi with us.
