Here is Brooklyn's poem for you to enjoy.
dear book
leave the light on
so i can read
plead in your pages
palpable presence
dwindled into ink
painted on pages
your words,
bleed into your soul,
spine, synopsis, spiel
in your narrative
metaphors are the medium
of the art you paint
but i won’t prop you up
beside mona lisa to
let them lavish you in louvre
selfishly, i’ll keep you
prised possession on my shelf
pick you up when sun’s gone
read you all myself
so will you? will you keep the light on?
