Sport Leaders Breakfast

Mereana Martin, Holly Denston-Swift, and Vanessa Munro, Year 12 students, attended a Sport Leaders Breakfast today, hosted by the Otago Secondary Schools Sports Association. Tarryn-Ann Fahey, who recently featured on Seven Sharp, was an inspirational Guest Speaker.

Winter Sport

The school 1st XI and combined schools 2nd XI Football Teams played two games after returning to school at Alert Level 2. The 1st XI finished the season in style, defeating both St Hilda’s Collegiate School 1st XI 3-2 and Columba College 1st XI 3-2. A mighty effort. The Junior Premier Basketball Team had a successful season, reaching their goal of competing in the final, before succumbing to Columba College. The end of season netball placings have been confirmed by Dunedin Netball. Congratulations to the Senior A and B Teams and the 9A Team for winning their respective grades. Trophies will be awarded at a future prizegiving.

Summer Sport

Volleyball is underway for some of our school teams, under Alert Level 2 restrictions. Other teams will be entered if we return to Alert Level 1. Rowers are back on the Otago Harbour training, with some prospective new novice rowers joining the crew. Ms Tupai, student teacher, took a morning touch session before school this week in preparation for the season starting in Term 4. There was a great turn out of students, who enjoyed some expert coaching.

Another training session will be held next week.
