Polyhymnia, the combined Queen’s and King’s choir participated in the Otago/South Canterbury competition on Monday. We presented a ten minute programme of three songs. Singing in both English and Latin was a challenge but one that we enjoyed.

The choir gained a highly commended award and the trophy for Student Conductor. Our version of “The Wellerman”, one of four performed on the day, also won the trophy for the Best Performance of a New Zealand Song. We all had a great day and really enjoyed listening to other choirs, learning much about good performance and communication techniques when singing.
