Year 12 and 13 Physics trip

Tom Clark —

On 25 February the Year 12 and 13 Physics class went to the ice rink to have a go at curling to examine real life examples of mechanical concepts.

On 25 February the Year12/13 Physics class went to the ice rink in order to have a go at curling. Despite everyone being newcomers to the sport, several students showed they were naturals with a deft touch! The field trip allowed the students to examine real life examples of the mechanics concepts they had been learning in class, particularly the application of Newton's Law of Motion and Conservation of Momentum. There has since been talk of a Physics curling team to compete in the high school competition this year!
