Year 13 PE Ski Trip

Daisy Kitto-Thomas (Year 13) —

Last weekend the Year 13 PE class was lucky enough to embark on their annual Year 13 Ski trip to Coronet Peak in Queenstown.

Despite the trip only being over a weekend, all of us managed to have an action packed two days filled with absolute "full sending" down the slopes. Despite some students only being beginner skiers and snowboarders, by the end of the ski trip it is safe to say all of us were hurtling down the mountain with definite speed. Despite encountering some challenges such as thunder & lightning on the mountain and some grim weather, nothing could hold us back from taking charge of the slopes of Coronet Peak.

Whilst on this ski trip, we were incredibly lucky to be introduced to professional skier and snowboarders Kyle & Chad Miller, who showed us their sick tricks on the slope and took us through a day in the life of being professionals in the snow. In the upcoming weeks a video will be published showing their epic abilities as professional skiers and snowboarders - so make sure to watch this space.

Just a mere three days after getting out of Level 3 lockdown we were very lucky to make this trip happen and a huge thank you to our main slope slayers Jacqui Earland and Nicole Rodgers for allowing this trip to happen. It is safe to say that this year's ski trip has been the absolute peak of Year 13.
