Year 11 Speech Competition

Viv Smith —

The competition was held on Thursday 27 June. This year’s adjudicator, Ms. Sam Montgomerie, commented on the high standard of the speeches presented, both in terms of development of ideas and of presentation.

Daisy Kitto-Thomas was placed first for her very accomplished and moving speech on the importance of gratitude in a seemingly selfish, materialistic society. Congratulations on a magnificent speech, Daisy.  Ana Finau was placed 2nd, speaking beautifully on her focus and goals as a Pasifika student. Christina Boyd 3rd, spoke passionately on the importance of accepting and respecting ourselves, and others, without judgement. Well done to these students and our other contestants who all delivered well-written, well-presented and entertaining speeches.
