Three of the Queen's Surf Academy headed off to Christchurch last weekend for the 21st Seventhwave Canterbury Women’s Surf Champs hosted by Southern Wāhine.

With offshore winds and swell for the entire day, the girls really got to display some great surfing. The Canterbury wāhine were joined by wāhine from Dunedin, Westcoast, Kaikōura and Taranaki. It was great to see the support for women’s surfing growing with representatives from all over Aotearoa.

Sari Ayson was a double finalist placing 4th in both Under 18 and Under 16 events; Tessa Gabbott 3rd in Under 18 and Rewa Morrison 2nd in Under 16.
