Year 13 Biology Trip

Allison Dodds —

On Wednesday 18 May, the Year 13 Biology class spent the morning at the Albatross Colony, to observe some of the bird behaviours we had been learning about in class.

Unfortunately, it was a very still day, so we didn’t get to see any adult birds, but we did get to see lots of huge, fluffy chicks waiting impatiently for their parents to come back from sea and feed them. We had a great morning, and we got to see many real-life examples to back up the theory covered at school. Mereana showed she has pretty long arms, but albatrosses have a wider wingspan! Thanks to Ms Hanning, for coming on the trip and driving a van for us.
