Interact Group and Bellyful Dunedin

Chrissy Hanning —

Bellyful Dunedin were extremely grateful the Queen's Interact group gave up their lunch hour to prepare the vegetables required for the monthly cook.

This is something the group would like to continue for the rest of the year. It is a very helpful task, as it takes two Bellyful volunteers one and a half hours to complete.  Bellyful are extremely lucky to be able to use the Professional Foods Room facilities at Queen's to make about 100 meals a month to feed families in need in and around Dunedin.  One of our teachers, Chrissie Hanning is a Cook Coordinator for Bellyful Dunedin and has been volunteering for about two years. Recently she received a 2019 Shining Heart Award for her contributions to Bellyful Dunedin and her community.  You can find more information about Bellyful Dunedin and the good things they are doing in the community at www.bellyful.org.nz/dunedin/.
