"One Day at a Time" - Mental Wellness Journal for Sale

Symone Washington, Nushka Kelly, Amber Dovey —

We are a group of three girls in Year 13 who have created a journal to help teenagers through their struggles.

At the start of the year we were assigned to create a product, and make a business. Due to the high rates of mental distress throughout teenagers in New Zealand, we thought this would be a perfect opportunity to create a product that will help teenagers through their struggles.

The mission of our business is to help New Zealand teenagers tackle the struggles of mental distress one day at a time, by supplying them with tools to recognise their strengths, in order to create a positive outlook on life.

Our product is a mental well-being journal called ‘One day at a time’. This is a three month guide to improve mental well-being. Each week there will be 4 activities and a weekly check in. The activities we have created are focused on gratitude, recognising strengths, maintaining stress, reducing anxiety, and understanding different emotions. After completing the three months, the user of the journal creates their own care plan which can help them in circumstances where they feel their emotions are taking over.

The price of the product is $25. However we have a discounted price for Queen's students at $20.

We are more than happy that we have made this idea into a reality, and are thankful for the ongoing support of people.
