From nearly 4000 secondary students, in Shakespeare Globe Centre New Zealand’s 2023 Regional and National University of Otago Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Festivals, Martha was chosen as one of 48 to attend the National Shakespeare Schools' Production (SGCNZ NSSP) 9-day intensive programme.

This course was held at Scots College in Wellington during the last school holidays. The programme consisted of multiple workshops taught by theatre industry professionals and group rehearsals for a variety of Shakespeare's plays. It finished with two performances, one in the Alan Gibbs Centre at Wellington College, the other in the Wild Theatre in Wellington Zoo. Martha found the entire week ‘extremely valuable’, and the ability to work alongside the amazing tutors/directors and other like minded students was an incredible learning experience. 

From these 48 students, Martha was chosen as one of the 24 to represent New Zealand as members of the Young Shakespeare Company 2024, and travel to Shakespeare's Globe, London, next July. We congratulate Martha on her hard work and selection.
