Kia ora koutou katoa

Today in assembly, Maddy Sinclair and Chloe Gray, two of the lead characters in the musical Into the Woods performed a small part of the show. Together with King’s High School, staff and students have been working hard to put together what can only be described as a fantastic show if today’s items are anything to go on. Tickets are still available and can be purchased here.

This year, Bullying Free NZ Week is all about empowering students to be part of the solution. Today in assembly, the video produced by Amberly and Daisy, was shared with the school in support of Bullying Free NZ Week – Pink Shirt Day. The message they shared was that bullying does come in different forms and it is never okay. That we can all change what we do for the better of everyone, including ourselves.

So many activities are happening over this term that involves students showcasing their talents. We have girls competing in the Big Sing, the Chamber Music Competition, Science Competitions, Aerobics Competitions, Otago Secondary Schools’ Netball Tournament, Ngā Manu Kōrero Speech Competition, the school musical, Te Hautoka Kapa Haka Competition, Ethics Olympiad and in the Girls' Shed project to name just a few. To all of the students, staff, parents, whānau, ex-girls and community members who are involved in these activities, a very big thank you. Our girls cannot be involved in any activities without your support, so again, thank you for your time and for your expertise that you share with the girls.

I would also like to remind everyone that reporting information can be accessed through the Parent Portal at any time. Some subject comments and results will have been updated and added to already this term and I suggest checking online every 2-3 weeks for any updates on your daughter’s progress.

As always, you are welcome to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Ngā mihi
