Last Friday our Pasifika mentor Ana Mapasua organised for an awesome guest speaker to come in and speak to the Whānau class.

Melissa Lama is an inspirational leader, community liaison and panel leader; who works in both the Pasifika and Muslim communities. Melissa discussed how the choices you make and actions you take have a huge impact on your life, and how important it is to be true to yourself. She explained how they can stand up for themselves, and have their voices heard in a crowd. It was so lovely to hear Melissa’s life story and the beautiful ways she is making a difference in her community. Thank you so much for coming to speak to us Melissa, we loved hearing your thoughts. Every two weeks Ana will bring in a guest speaker to inspire, encourage, and engage our students.
