Interhouse lunchtime competition kicks off

Liz Koni —

Wednesday marked the beginning of the annual interhouse lunchtime competition at Queen's with a fun and competitive game of touch.

Interhouse rivalry is always alive and well at Queen's and the beginning of the interhouse lunchtime competition on Wednesday was no different!  It was a lovely Autumn day to kick off the competition with Ballard taking on Dawson in a fast-paced and close game of touch.  With a 0 - 0 scoreboard at half time, it was anyone's game, but the second half proved to be Dawson's, grabbing three quick tries before the final whistle blew.  It was great to see students from every year level turning up to represent their house, and the camaraderie amongst the students in both teams was something to be proud of.  We look forward to next week's game when Pickering takes on Rae.  Later in the year, we will have Netball and Futsal lunchtime competitions also and all games have house points up for grabs which contribute to deciding which house will win the house shield for 2019.
