Students’ Success
The Cross Country team had their final race of the season last Thursday, competing in the Otago Cross Country Championships held at Kaikorai Valley College. Despite the muddy conditions, the team finished with some pleasing results. Yui Ishikawa finished third overall in the Under 14 Girls race, then alongside Tessa Gabbott (fourth) and Maia Scott (fifth), also won the team section of the race. Many of the other team members also finished in the top 10 for their age group. It has been a great season for all students involved.
Congratulations to Elise Carline, who represented the Otago Under 17 Basketball Team in the weekend. The team had convincing wins against Eastern Southland. Elise is travelling to a National Event in Hamilton with the team during the July School Holidays. Holly Lightfoot and Kadince Robinson were members of the Under 15B Team.
Recently, Georgia Te Raki and Abby Newell represented Otago in the Under 15 Girls’ Team at the South Island Table Tennis Tournament held in Christchurch. Special mention of the 9A Team which finished sixth from 16 teams. This was a fantastic achievement against some strong opposition. Thank you to our Coaches and Managers, who guided and supported the players.
