Last weekend the surfers made the 9 hour trip up to Westport to compete in the second Grom Series event and the Cape Classic.The whole team surfed really well and came away with some fantastic results.

Tessa Gabbott enjoyed the bigger conditions on day one and ended up winning the Under 14 division. Bella Burns came in 6th with Rewa Morrison and Sari Ayson taking 9th=. These girls also competed in the Under 16 division with Bella Burns making the grand final and finishing in 4th place.

Anika Ayson put up a great performance and won the Under 18 girls division. Jaya Reardon placed 5th and Taya Morrison in 6th.

In the Open Women's division, both Jaya and Anika both surfed really well and came in 3rd and 4th respectively in a very close final.

Well done to all the girls and their parents as it is a big commitment travelling all that way to the West Coast. They will be looking forward to the Otago Champs which is this weekend. Good luck.
