In the final assembly of Term 3,  we announced our Queen’s Charitable Trust Year 9 Scholarship recipients. These scholarships are awarded to Year 9 students who have demonstrated excellent classroom participation and contribution, with special achievement in their selected area. They exhibit a positive and supportive attitude towards other students and staff as well as having been involved in several co-curricular activities. My congratulations to the six recipients who are pictured above.

The lip sync competition for Year 9 and 10 students was also held on the last day of Term 3 and what a great afternoon of entertainment it was. Each house group for both levels performed to a mixture of songs with many students showing their potential on the stage. Congratulations to Dawson House, the overall winners for both levels.

Congratulations to the students who have won national level recognition recently. Asia Tapealava will travel to China later this month to represent New Zealand at the 2019 Asian Open Figure Skating International. All girls who competed at the NZCAF Aerobics Schools Regional Competition qualified for Nationals, the results can be seen in full in a separate article. Martha McAuley and Lucy Edwards were placed runner-up in the National Hip Hop competition.

With only just over two weeks of classes remaining for all senior students, the focus is now on their external examinations. Many courses for 2020 are dependent on positive exam results and the key to gaining these results is being well prepared. You can click here  to see external examination timetable from NZQA.

On Wednesday 23rd is our Sports and Cultural Awards evening (next Wednesday 6.30pm) and Monday 4th November (7pm) is our Senior Academic Prize giving and I look forward to celebrating with you all, the achievement of our amazing students.
