The English Department is holding a night of ‘Celestial Poetry’ fun here at school 6 July 6pm-7pm, to celebrate Matariki through the joy of words and poetry.

Students will be listening to some enchanting poetry, and creating their own beautiful writing, inspired by these poems and the night sky.

A pizza tea will be provided and we will toast marshmallows outside in our English courtyard - as is appropriate for a celebration of the wonder of the night-sky! There is no cost to students.

English teachers have already discussed this with their classes. If your daughter is keen to join us, she will need to get a permission slip from her teacher and return this early. Past events have proved very popular so we may need to cap our numbers. The event will be held regardless of the weather on the night.
