This year five Queen’s girls, on Saturday 5th September, entered the Alliance Française French-speaking competition which is an annual Otago-Southland event.

The contestants each did presentations to native French speakers who then asked them a variety of questions, all in French of course. Our top placegetter was Shaza Ziwani whose 100% earned her first in Year 11. She was closely followed by Caitlyn Petrie who placed 3rd in Year 11. Although the three juniors, Frauke Haase, Aimee Bennett-Hill and Olivia Adie, did not get placed they are all to be commended on their results and their courage to enter this somewhat daunting competition.
